Employee vs. Employer: Reason Why You Should Start Thinking To Quit Your Job

Being an employee is no simple feat. What many see as a simple routine work that people do on the day-to-day basis, is actually a more tedious and a lot of work underneath. Not to mention the element of pressure involving meeting deadlines and getting bossed around by your boss. The modern workers, after all, are but the equivalent of slaves back in the days. It is just that these workers looks smart with their collard shirts and attractive shoes.

If the idea of wearing high heels and make-up or dressed in an intimidating long sleeves and well-pressed pants makes you think it's a glamourous life, it still doesn't take the fact that you are still a servant. But for sure, you've been longing for the day when you do not care if you are wearing jeans to work or would come lunch time and boss everybody around because you are the own the office. It is more gratifying, psychologically and financially if soon, you can be called an entrepreneur, a self-serving business person.

But more than just the label or the underlying concept in its logic, there are other more reasons why becoming your own boss has its perks instead being someone else’s working machine:

1.   You have your own authority
Slaves fall in one of two categories: those who have limited freedom and those who do not have freedom at all. Depending on your kind of employment, your status as a modern-day worker may also be in one of those two cases since you abide certain rules as part of your employment which indirectly affects freedom, whether you like it or not.

This, however, would not be the case if you work for yourself or have others do the working for you. Like how you might have did while employed in a certain company previously. Bossing yourself or bossing someone else around are a kind of perks you can attain if you are an entrepreneur.

2.   You have choices
Unlike being stuck in the same job, doing things over and over again until the next shift, you are always in the same old routine without a place for complaining. Being a business person, on the other hand, gives you the power of choice that you may not have as some company’s employee.
This means having the power to choose how you want to live your life to be as a both a business person and as an individual and which direction you want your choices be heading. Choice, sometimes, is a privilege and is something not always given for everybody.

3.   Business is a venture: You can make it big financially
Many workers, despite all the hard work, do not get rich because of a fixed rate salary. They may either only get by in life or had very little savings from their employment—but not rich.

In business, you may either lose some money as a result of failure or you have the potential to generate big income if your business becomes booming. Business can be like a high-risk gamble or investment; it is a venture—you either lose it or you make it big. But in the end, you can earn you a skill to create another venture.

4.   You have control over your lives
With you as your own master, who would mandate you on what to do, how, and when? Nobody but yourself. If you are a person who finds autonomy an issue, then chance is good that being an entrepreneur is for you.

5.   Employers reach for their dreams.

Putting up your own business is creating that path towards your dreams. If you are an employee, you are helping other to create that path to build their dreams. Don’t you want to reach your dreams too? When will you start doing that - when you are older, and weaker? Don't make your dreams wait for you too long.

Your success in reaching your goals depends on how early you start, it’s not how much knowledge you know.  If you are genius and know-it-all master, unless you use that for your own good, you will keep on helping your boss reach his dreams and not yours. Be a sidekick but aim to retire from being a sidekick and be your own boss.
