6 Ways To Save When Traveling

Traveling across the globe has been always on top of the bucket list or social media trend, showing pictures of your whereabouts and enjoying another culture, staying at a great hotel, indulging at the best native delicacy and perhaps gallivanting across the city. All these is a dream our pockets cannot afford to spend, so how exactly can you travel without getting broke?

It is somewhat easy as long as you have a list, the list consists of places to travel to.

1.You can always start with one country, jot down all the places you wish to go to, the type of food they have then schedule your vacation ahead of time. When you have done these, search for a flight at least two or three months in advance this way the tickets are much lower than days closer to the planned flight, choose a date that isn’t in peak season where vacationers travel less.
Tip: Ticket price go on sale 8 weeks before the date of travel.

2. Search for tickets on sale from website to website and compare the prices. During the travel day, you have to carry light baggage, airlines usually charge for additional prices on check-in luggage and on the other hand it would be much easier to travel with one set of a bag.
Try these ticket comparison site Orbitz or install this free site Hopper to check flight costs.

3. When selecting for an accommodation bear in mind that the reason for traveling is not to stay in bed or at the hotel for the rest of trip so there is no point to book a room at an expensive hotel.  There are always rooms at an inn for transients and backpackers that costs less. Visit Agoda, they both have hotel and condo accommodation now.  Many attest that Airbnb is the site to go to if you want the feel of your own home at an affordable price, that is if you are not too picky.

4. Meals in foreign countries costs somewhat expensive though it varies from currency to currency but then it would be helpful to plan your meals ahead of time such as find a nice restaurant that isn’t a hotspot on the map, you will be surprised to find that some of these restaurants taste better than the expensive five-star ones.

In Japan, you will find good food from their convenience stores like Lawson. Check this Lawson Japan video
Tip: Go to a food hall and find the longest line. Cheap and better prices.

5. As for transportation avoid taxis, and get to know the way with public vehicles.  Not only you will experience foreign public transportation, who knows you will be able to meet your soul mate.

6. Walking around will always get you somewhere, you will meet new people, learn new things on the street and do what the natives do, sometimes tourists spots are not always what it says to be, there are far better places to go to that the ones that are famous.
